But even more difficult is that stable gold (isotope 197) is not the result of any decay chain, so gold cannot be the stable result of a radio-active isotope decaying, like lead can be. Therefore, gold is produced ONLY by a star going supernova, in a process that is definitely NOT producing only gold. That gold, already an exceedingly rare element in what a supernova puts out, would clump up, avoid any contamination from the much more abundant other elements around and form a pure gold planet is just plain impossible.
