What do you think when it comes to buying a wedding ring?
My boyfriend thinks that it's stupid to have to buy two rings. He thinks there should just be one for both engagement and the actual marriage. I told him that if there is just an engagement ring then it will look like you are always engaged and what would you have to put on during the wedding. If you buy just a wedding band then you wouldn't have an engagement ring. Engagement rings are a big thing in my opinion. It doesn't have to be huge and ornate. Its a symbol of a man's dedication to a woman and the woman can look at it and be proud and say to the world "He loves me, and I love him, look at what we're gonna do". I want a very simple engagement ring and a plain wedding band. It's not like I'm asking for a ring with a bunch of diamonds on it or a platinum wedding band. I think less is better when it comes to jewelry. Is it really so wrong of me to want both rings? Ladies and gentlemen, what do you think? Is it useless to get two rings, no rings?
I can completely understand what you are going through on this one. I picked out my wedding ring before we got married and it didn't come with a wedding band to match. I figure, eh, I'll find one later, but thought it was pretty important to have. Well, I've been looking for a while and can't find anything to match. I love my ring, but I'm like you, I want something to symbolize that we are married. On the other hand, I'm beginning to figure out how expensive our wedding is getting. I'm thinking of getting a very simple gold band to use for the wedding and somewhere down the line to get what I really want for maybe an anniversary or something.
Maybe look for something that comes in a set. A lot of times it isn't more expensive to get both bands. Try the Jewelry Exchange. They have a lot of options at about a 1/4 of the cost.
